Hi Margot! I’ve only recently “discovered ” Dave Roots(unsure of the origin of the name) HD2 and I’ve got to say it is exactly what I’ve been looking for! I get it on Windows Media Guide by clicking on “search for stations” at the bottom of the genre list. All I can say is don’t change the music, though it would be good to have the song/artist title displayed. Thanks for the music!

Last week my HD radio stopped receiving Dave Roots locally (live in S,yrna, GA). This has happened before…. Hopefully they’ll fix it because Atlanta radio sucks without Dave Roots

Anyone have advice on how to help tune Dave Roots? Got a new HD radio that seems to work great for almost all the listed channels here in town but it will not tune Daves HD2. Just looking at the site it appears to be the best station on the air in Atlanta these days. Play some Gillian Welch!! The latest album is fantastic. How about tunes from any of these: Kathleen Edwards, Alabama Shakes, Kenneth Brian Band, New Orleans Suspects????

Margot,
I think some of Robert Randolph’s music would work well on your playlist, especially the stuff produced by T-Bone Burnett.

Dave Roots is absoutley amazing. I have been listing to it on my computer longer than I can remember, it has brought to me so many new artists and types of musice. I listen to NOTHING else. I miss not being able to see song and artist on the web site ( radio.com) I used it to find the artist so that I could get the music from my ITunes account, sure would like to see that come back !!!! All in all DR is GREAT !!!!!! Keep the awesome tunes rolling !!!!!!!

When I first started listening a few months ago, the player would show a picture of the artist and identify the artist and the song. Now that’s gone; all I get is the station logo. I’ll never get that info unless you tell me and how can I buy the music if I don’t know who it is? Would really like radio.com to bring those features back!

Love your music, but you are no longer available through Tune In which I used to listen to you in my car, on my android phone, entertainment systems at both home and travel trailer. Good things always seem to end too soon. Hope you will come back to Tune In so I can put you back on my personal music sound track.

Tuned in today for the first time and heard Band of Heathens. They have been one of my favorites for a couple of years now. What a pleasant surprise. Then I heard two or three more artists I didn’t know but will now check further – Muckrakers for one. Thanks for the introductions – I really like the stuff you are playing.

I am totally hooked on Dave Roots…

It just happened this morning. Here’s what I was told:
Due to a licensing issue, the “TunedIn” app for the iphone & ipad has been disabled from CBS Radio streaming.
To continue listening to your favorite CBS stations on your desktop, go to Radio.com.
For mobile users, you can download the official Radio.com application from the iTunes store or your Android Market place.
We’re working through the licensing issues and hope to have tuned in back up soon.

Been listening to the “Roots” for about five months now, and I absolutely love it. You’re doing a great job, Margot!. I’m hearing a lot of stuff I haven’t heard for years and you’ve introduced me to a ton of music and artists that I haven’t heard before and they’re all great. Thanks for making my workday so much better!

What’s this Infinite HD plugin that radio.com keeps trying to install when I listen to Dave Roots online? It says that it is “required”, which it isn’t because if I click “No Thanks”, I still get the station. The license agreement talks about sharing processing among listener’s PCs. I sure don’t want programs running on other people’s PC’s having access to mine. Too many viruses and trojans out there. Can you provide a link for online listening that bypasses this unwanted new plugin????

Hey Margot,
Just to let you all know there at the station. John Prine is playing the Fox on Feb 25th with Old Crow Medicine Show as the opener. Always a good concert & all of John Prine’s fans will agree. Perhaps some radio promo? Tickets are still available.
Thanks!
Patty
February 28, 2011 4:52 pm
Well Prine was a great show, Fox if fabulous….not so much with the rude youngsters there for Old Crow…what a shame, some people ain’t human enough to teach their kids manners. Too rowdy of a mix for us old Prine fans who go for a nice night out, OK I suppose at the fairgrounds in a general seating atmosphere.

Margot I just want to give kudos to you and the Dave Roots staff. I don’t know what I would do without this HD2 station. My ride to and from work and at home streaming just helps make my days more stress free. I don’t need satellite radio anymore. It was horrible the day or two the station was down. Thanks for all the great music and programming.

12/11/10: I’ve been listening to Dave Roots on iTunes. I really like the music, but according to iTunes, every song you play is Two Gallants -Despite What You’ve Been Told. When I hear a good song, I’d really like to know what it is!!! Somebody needs to go in the back room and kick the computer.

Hello Margot, I and I really liked “Dirty Laundry” by Bitter: Sweet. It is good to stretch ocasionally and hear new things. (Of course there is a “however”) However, please don’t get to far from your roots. Toward that end may I and I suggest that “Joey’s Arms” by Sons of Bill be considered for play. I and I are also holdin’ out for Jesus. Peace, Much Love, Don

I highly recommend that you check out and play some music from the albums Distant Music and Western Tales and Trails by Adam Klein out of Athens, GA. He’s a tremendously talented lyricist whose performance style simply oozes soul and depth. His lyrics simultaneously exhibit the voice of a poet and that of a storyteller, and his music more than complements the lyrics.
