How often are you at a restaurant and notice that many people around you are buried in their phones, combing through Facebook or twitter, paying little or no attention to the people they’re sitting with?  Are you one of those people?

An op-ed piece by Maria Schindlecker over the weekend made the normal points about the fact that far too many of us spend  way too much time on social networking sites.  Recent research indicates that mobile use of social media sites has swelled a whopping 37% over last year.  In August of 2011, more than 72 million people in the United States accessed social media and networking sites on mobile devices.  This information was gathered by comScore, a global leader in measuring the digital world and preferred source of digital business analytics.

So how addicted to social media are you?  Take this brief quiz from Bluegrass.com to find out.

Tell Us What You Think in Our Comments Below

  • How has social media changed your life, but most importantly, your personal life?
  • Do you find that you spend much more time online than you did even just a year ago?
  • Do you feel that you’ll miss something if you don’t check Facebook or twitter?
  • Ever step away from a meeting, date, dinner or other to get a glance at your social media sites on your phone?

Whether we like it or not, social media is here to stay.  It’s going to keep saturating more and more aspects of our everyday lives.
