2011′s Top 10 In Music, Movies And Pop Culture

The best of 2011 according to ME! What’s on the list? Some of the choices may surprise you!
Best Albums:
1-Lady Gaga, Born This Way. Her passion for rock music is all over this album. “You And I” features Brian May from Queen. Also the late Clarence Clemmons plays on “Hair” and “Edge Of Glory”. She’s done a gallizon interviews but when she breaks down Bruce Springsteen’s “Thunder Road” in this clip, it gives me chills.
2-Paul Simon, So Beautiful Or So What. There are so many great songs on this album (actually, every song is great). My favorite is “The Afterlife” which reminds me of the movie “Defending Your Life”. “Love And Blessings” has a great gospel feel and “Getting Ready For Christmas Day” is the song you should be listening to right now. I cannot believe this album isn’t nominated for any Grammy Awards???!!!
3-Adele, 21. Yeah, OK. She’ll be on everyone’s list this year, but we called it two years ago. I’m so glad I had a chance to interview her before she became a household name.
Best Movies:
4-The Help. It was sad, funny, thought provoking and controversial. Every actress in this was brilliant. Kathyrn Stockett turned a great book into an fantastic movie. Side note: read our awesome rejection letter when we requested her for an interview.
5-The Muppets: Very rarely are there children’s movies that the parents enjoy more than the kids. Great cameos, delightful songs and a funny, witty script made this one of my favorites this year.
6-50/50. I really wish more people got to see this. We interviewed Seth Rogen and Will Reiser and they couldn’t have been nicer. This may be the funniest movie about cancer you’ll ever see.
TV
7-Watch What Happens Live (Bravo). This isn’t for everyone, only for the Bravo obsessed like me. Andy Cohen is hilarious and lovable. What makes this show so awesome is the audience interaction through social networking. NO question is off limits. I cannot wait for 2012 because it’ll be on 5 nights a week!
8-American Horror Story (F/X). This show is so sick and twisted and that’s what makes it so great. If you are wary of scary stuff, don’t watch it alone.
9-Walking Dead (AMC): So far this season has been incredible. It was slow to start but in the end—wow. We are so glad we got to know Jon Bernthal because this season it’s all about Shane. Check out some of our interviews with Jon and the cast of Walking Dead.
10-Best 2012 revelation: Women are funny!! From Tina Fey’s Bossypants to the success of Bridesmaids, 2011 was the year of the funny lady. We were so lucky to have Kristin Wiig and Wendy McClendon-Covey from Bridesmaids stop by the station for this hilarious and fun interview.
