Formed in North London in 1964 by two brothers, Ray and Dave Davies, the Kinks are thought of as one of the most influential and definitive rock bands of the century.  We featured a song of theirs from 1979 on today’s Vinyl Vineyard.

From the early years with “You Really Got Me” and “All Day And All Of The Night” to the prolific solo career of Ray Davies, The Kinks’ music has reached almost every corner of the Earth and influenced so many other bands along the way.

The song we featured today was “(Wish I Could Fly Like) Superman” from 1979.
